Charlottesville Restaurant Fund
For our inaugural cause we have chosen the Charlottesville Restaurant Fund to donate 25% of all purchases made through May 15th!
One of the many unique things we love about Charlottesville is all of our locally owned restaurants, which we know are being hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 pandemic as many have had to close or greatly reduce staff. These are the places and people who help us celebrate special occasions, enjoy time with friends and family, or just relax in a break from our own kitchens. The Charlottesville Restaurant Fund was created as a local response to the pandemic to provide money as well as resources to those in our community who have been laid off due to forced restaurant closings.
The Charlottesville Restaurant Fund is giving a $200 mini grant to those in need, so they can pay their utility bill, buy groceries, cover the cost of a prescription, provide for their families and many more things we often take for granted. There are a lot of restaurant employees that live paycheck to paycheck and depend on their cash tips to survive. Per the Charlottesville Restaurant Fund’s GoFundMe page, “All money donated will go directly to the individuals (local restaurant workers) who need the monetary support the most. Funds will be dispersed to these individuals as they come in.” For more information visit their Facebook page.
